Nano Banana is Google's image generation and editing line. Every tier does both text-to-image and image-to-image with reference images, and every tier exposes the same unusually wide framing controls — fourteen aspect ratios from 1:8 through 8:1, at 512px, 1K, 2K or 4K. The tiers differ in price and in how much you pay for higher resolutions, not in what they can be asked to do.

Resolution pricing is not uniform across tiers — on Nano Banana 2, 512px is priced like 4K rather than like 1K.
No video output anywhere in the line; pair it with a video family if you need motion.
The tiers share a parameter surface, so there is no capability reason to pick one over another — only cost and output quality.
